The Mini Dental Implant Process
In this video, experienced implant dentist Luz Cabrera, DMD, explains the steps involved in the placement of a miniature dental implant.
The process of getting mini dental implants is straightforward and involves a few key steps.
Here’s an overview:
- Free Consultation: It all begins with a free consultation where we assess your dental needs and discuss your options.
- Impressions: After the consultation, we take impressions of your teeth.
- CT Scan Study: These impressions are sent to a specialized lab for a study with a CT scan, which is a radiographic tool. This study helps us create a surgical guide or template.
- Surgical Guide: The surgical guide is a crucial tool that assists us in precisely determining the optimal locations for placing the mini implants.
- Implant Placement: With the surgical guide in place, we proceed to place the mini implants. On the same day as the implant placement, we attach temporary crowns.
- Final Impression: We take a final impression on the same day as the implant placement.
- Final Restoration: In just ten days, the final restoration, such as a crown, is ready to be placed in your mouth.
